The Mississippi Department of Transportation will hold a dedication ceremony for the Meaghan Bedford Reed Memorial Highway in Pontotoc. The event is scheduled for Thursday, October 30, at 1:00 p.m. and will take place at West Heights Baptist Church, located at 328 W. Oxford St., Pontotoc, MS.

The dedication honors Meaghan Bedford Reed as part of House Bill 909 passed during the 2025 Regular Session of the Mississippi Legislature. This legislation designates a segment of Mississippi Highway 9 South in Pontotoc County as the “Meaghan Bedford Reed Memorial Highway.” The designated section begins approximately two hundred feet north of Gilmer Road and extends southward for about one mile to its intersection near Ward Drive.

Family and friends of Meaghan Bedford Reed are expected to attend the ceremony alongside representatives from the Mississippi Department of Transportation.
