Former correctional officer sentenced to prison for sexual act with federal prisoner

A former correctional officer at the Federal Correctional Complex in Yazoo City, Mississippi, has been sentenced to 15 months in prison for engaging in sexual acts with a federal prisoner. The sentencing was announced by Acting U.S. Attorney Patrick A. Lemon of the Southern District of Mississippi.

The Department of Justice’s Office of the Inspector General began investigating Parker M. Triplett, age 25, in January 2025 after receiving information about his conduct with an inmate. Following the investigation, a federal grand jury indicted Triplett on April 8, 2025.

Triplett pleaded guilty to the charges on June 25, 2025, and was immediately taken into custody by the United States Marshal Service.

“The Department of Justice, Office of the Inspector General investigated the case,” according to Acting U.S. Attorney Patrick A. Lemon.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Kabah S. Ealy prosecuted the case.
