U.S. Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-Miss.) has expressed her support for President Trump’s recent nominations of Mississippi Supreme Court Associate Justices James D. Maxwell II and Robert P. Chamberlin to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Mississippi.
In a statement released from Washington, D.C., Hyde-Smith said, “I commend President Trump for selecting two very qualified judicial nominees to serve on the U.S. District Court bench, and look forward to their swift confirmation. I believe Justice Maxwell and Justice Chamberlin have a conservative judicial philosophy and knowledge of the law that will serve our state and nation well.”
The nominations are now pending Senate confirmation.
