During a recent ceremony, the Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) honored employees from District 1 in Tupelo for their long-term service. This district encompasses 16 counties in northeastern Mississippi. The event acknowledged staff for their roles in maintenance, administration, and construction.
MDOT Executive Director Brad White, Chief Engineer Earl Glenn, and the Mississippi Transportation Commission expressed gratitude to these employees for their dedication to MDOT and the state’s residents. A total of 40 employees were recognized during the ceremony.
Rodney Lindsey, a Technician at the District 1 Materials Testing Lab, was highlighted for his 30 years of service. Commissioner John Caldwell of the Northern Transportation District said, “I am grateful for all of our employees and thank them for their hard work and loyalty to MDOT.” He praised their professionalism and contributions to MDOT’s success.
Eddie Harris and Craig Young were both acknowledged for 25 years with MDOT. Harris began on a bridge maintenance crew before moving to warehouse management in Tupelo. He appreciates the camaraderie with his colleagues, saying they are like family. Young started at the Lee County Maintenance office in 2000 and has spent the last 15 years as an Infrastructure Maintenance Technician Supervisor in Itawamba County. He described MDOT as a “family-based place to work.”
The Mississippi Department of Transportation continues to recognize its employees’ efforts across various departments.
