Temporary road closures are scheduled in Philadelphia, Mississippi, starting November 4, 2025. The Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) announced these closures to facilitate construction on the SR 15/16 Roundabout. The affected area includes State Route 16 at Canal Place and W. Beacon St., extending from SR 885 to SR 16 in Neshoba County. Additionally, the connection to SR 375 from SR 16/W. Beacon St. will be impacted.

The construction is expected to continue until June 30, 2026. During this period, the Lakeside Dr. bridge will be opened once the closure on SR 16 begins. MDOT has assured that detour signage will guide drivers around the closed sections, with temporary traffic signals installed at both ends of SR 885.

MDOT advises drivers to slow down and pay attention to posted signs while being vigilant for road workers in the area. For more information and updates on this project, individuals can visit MDOTtraffic.com or use the MDOT Traffic mobile app. Updates are also available through MDOT’s social media channels on Facebook and X.
