The Mississippi Agriculture and Forestry Museum in Jackson is set to host its annual “Homestead for the Holidays” event on December 11 and 12, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Admission is priced at $10 for attendees aged three and older.
This year’s event promises a variety of activities, including breakfast for supper, story time with Mrs. Claus, and photo opportunities with Santa and Rudolph. The Fortenberry-Parkman Farmstead will provide agricultural demonstrations, while visitors can explore Small Town, Mississippi, to experience Christmas as it was in the early 1920s.
Attendees will have the chance to write letters to Santa using limited-edition postcards from the Small-Town Print Shop of the 1920s. The General Store will offer old-fashioned glass-bottle drinks and unique Mississippi-made products suitable for gifts. Additionally, hayrides, carousel rides, train rides, and live music will be available throughout the museum grounds.
The event is sponsored by several organizations including the Mississippi Egg Marketing Board, Mississippi Beef Council, Cal-Maine Foods Inc., Mississippi Poultry Association, Polk’s Meat Products, and The Dairy Alliance.
