The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) Mississippi Political Action Committee (PAC) has announced its endorsement of Governor Tate Reeves for a second term. This decision was publicized during an event at the NFIB member business, A Complete Flag Source, located in Jackson, Mississippi.

Dawn McVea, NFIB State Director, stated, “Governor Reeves is the clear choice for small business in this year’s gubernatorial race.” Governor Reeves acknowledged the endorsement with a statement underscoring the significant role of small businesses in the economy: “We know that small businesses are the key driver of our economy. We need to support them and help build them up in the future. That’s what I’ve always done, and that’s what we’ll do in a second term. I’m grateful for their support as we work to keep up the Mississippi momentum!”

McVea praised Reeves for his leadership during the pandemic, noting, “Our members believe Governor Reeves has done an outstanding job leading the state. Governor Reeves really helped Mississippi thread the needle when it came to the pandemic, helping prevent the spread of the virus while ensuring that small businesses could remain open and Mississippians could keep working.”

She further highlighted the governor’s record on tax cuts, reducing bureaucratic hurdles, and addressing workforce issues. “In his first term as governor, he has proven to be a champion for small business owners from supporting tax cuts to finding ways to cut red tape and address workforce issues,” McVea added. With a background in banking, Reeves’ has been noted for his fiscal management skills, “His conservative management as treasurer, lieutenant governor, and governor has helped Mississippi small business owners have better transparency and spending of their tax dollars and even get some of those dollars back.”

Ending with the formal announcement, McVea stated, “On behalf of our small business members, I am proud to announce the NFIB Mississippi PAC’s endorsement of Gov. Tate Reeves for a second term.”

The endorsement aims to rally the support of small business owners and their employees, who are recognized for their voter turnout and ability to mobilize others to vote. The NFIB will work to marshal its Mississippi members to ensure strong voter participation from the small-business community on Election Day.
