On August 22, 2023, the NFIB Mississippi PAC announced its endorsement of Attorney General Lynn Fitch for her re-election bid in the upcoming November 7 primary election. The endorsement comes from a political action committee composed exclusively of members of the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB).

Dawn McVea, NFIB State Director, expressed support for Fitch, saying, “Lynn Fitch has done a tremendous job as attorney general. She understands the challenges facing Mississippi’s small businesses.” McVea highlighted Fitch’s actions during her first term, including opposing vaccine mandates during the COVID-19 pandemic, protecting the Unemployment Trust Fund, and preventing increases in payroll taxes.

In response, Fitch stated, “I am proud to have the support of the innovators and entrepreneurs of Mississippi’s small business community.” She emphasized her commitment to continuing to partner with small business owners to foster a conducive economic and regulatory environment for workforce development, community strengthening, and economic growth.

The endorsement signifies strong grassroots support from the state’s small business sector for Fitch’s campaign. Mississippi’s small business owners and their employees are noted for their active participation in voting and efforts to rally support for candidates favoring small businesses.
