Ole Miss men’s tennis will play against the No. 7 seed South Carolina Gamecocks in the second round of the Southeastern Conference Tournament on April 16, following a 4-0 win over Tennessee.

The match is scheduled for 2 p.m. at the Mitchell Tennis Center in College Station, Texas. This contest comes after Ole Miss (19-8, 6-8 SEC) secured a sweep against Tennessee and now faces South Carolina (15-7, 8-6 SEC), which is ranked No. 13 nationally.

Nationally ranked players will feature on both teams. For Ole Miss, Stefano D’Agostino holds a singles ranking of No. 81 and Matthieu Chambonniere is ranked No. 119 in singles; Isac Strömberg and Kai Milburn are currently No. 26 in doubles rankings. On the South Carolina side, Lucas Da Silva is ranked No.13 and Sean Daryabeigi is at No.72 for singles competition; their doubles teams include Paul Gazeau/Da Silva at No.7, Daryabeigi/Max Stenzer at No.59, and Da Silva/Daryabeigi at No.66.

Earlier this season, Ole Miss defeated South Carolina with a score of 5-2 when South Carolina was then ranked fourteenth nationally; since that meeting, the Gamecocks finished their regular season with five wins out of seven matches.

If Ole Miss advances past this round, it will meet Mississippi State—the tournament’s second seed—in Friday’s quarterfinals at the same venue.

Chambonniere finished his season with a team-best record of twenty-three singles wins while D’Agostino reached as high as number two in ITF junior rankings last August before earning ATP career-highs later that year; Strömberg achieved three top-thirty doubles victories during his senior campaign alongside Milburn who also held high national rankings throughout his collegiate career.
