Mississippi State Department of Health - Mississippi Is Seeing Increasing Cases of the COVID-19 Omicron Variant, Which Are Now Approaching 200 Per Day

175

Mississippi is seeing increasing cases of the COVID-19 Omicron variant, which are now approaching 200 per day. While the overall level of COVID-19 activity remains low, this upward trend has continued for the past three weeks. Your risk of serious illness from COVID-19 is greatest if you have not been fully vaccinated, including any third doses or boosters you may be eligible for. Boosters are an essential defense for those 65 and older, or with a chronic illness or underlying medical condition, including those who may be immunocompromised. COVID-19 vaccinations and boosters are free and available statewide. To learn more about eligibility and how to get a vaccination or booster, visit https://msdh.ms.gov/protect.
