A new human case of West Nile virus, in Oktibbeha County, has been confirmed as the state heads toward peak season for mosquitoes and West Nile virus (WNV). While symptoms of WNV are usually mild, they can become severe or deadly in some people, especially older adults. Take sensible precautions against mosquitoes when you go out.
