Balch & Bingham is proud to announce Philip Dunlap, partner in our Houston office and member of the Mergers & Acquisitions practice, has been named chair of the Houston Bar Association (HBA) Mergers and Acquisitions Section for the 2022-2023 year.
The HBA Mergers and Acquisitions Section focuses on the role played by lawyers in negotiating and documenting business acquisitions, divestitures, mergers, and related transactions. The Section’s principal activities include discussing and debating issues of current relevance and interest to practitioners in the mergers and acquisition and investment community and sponsoring and presenting educational programs on mergers and acquisition-related topics.
As chair, Philip leads the M&A Section Council in planning events for the M&A Section and other opportunities for its members to engage.
Philip represents clients in mergers and acquisitions transactions across all industries. He counsels private companies, private equity funds, and their portfolio companies in connection with strategic investments, joint ventures, mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures, as well as on general corporate matters. Philip also serves as outside general counsel in matters including financial transactions, employee compensation, commercial contracts, and employment agreements. Philip has been an active member of the HBA Mergers and Acquisitions Section since 2014.
