FOIA Request to Mississippi State Board of Education Regarding Instructional Mandates for State K-12 Schools on December 10, 2024.

As a media organization committed to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Magnolia State News have requested the Mississippi State Board of Education to provide a list of all instructional mandates for state K-12 schools under the Mississippi Public Records Act § 25-61-1 et seq. This request includes all required courses and/or general instruction.

We believe that access to public records is essential in fulfilling our professional responsibilities, which include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. As a media organization involved in gathering and reporting news to the public, we consider ourselves eligible for a fee waiver as per standard media professional protocols.

Our aim is to ensure that the public remains informed about the educational policies being implemented in their state's schools. We await the board's response and will continue our efforts towards promoting transparency and accountability in local government affairs.
