The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) Mississippi Political Action Committee has endorsed Governor Tate Reeves for a second term. The endorsement was announced by NFIB State Director Dawn McVea at an event held at A Complete Flag Source, a business in Jackson that is part of the NFIB network.
"Governor Reeves is the clear choice for small business in this year’s gubernatorial race," stated McVea during the announcement. Governor Reeves expressed his gratitude, saying, "We know that small businesses are the key driver of our economy. We need to support them and help build them up in the future. That’s what I’ve always done, and that’s what we’ll do in a second term. I’m grateful for their support as we work to keep up the Mississippi momentum!"
McVea praised Governor Reeves' leadership during challenging times, particularly his handling of pandemic-related issues. She noted, "Our members believe Governor Reeves has done an outstanding job leading the state. Governor Reeves really helped Mississippi thread the needle when it came to the pandemic, helping prevent the spread of the virus while ensuring that small businesses could remain open and Mississippians could keep working."
Further highlighting his achievements, McVea added, "In his first term as governor, he has proven to be a champion for small business owners from supporting tax cuts to finding ways to cut red tape and address workforce issues." She also acknowledged his background in banking as beneficial for fiscal management: "With his background in the banking sector, he understands the importance of avoiding debt and balancing the state budget."
The endorsement is expected to mobilize grassroots support among small business owners and their employees who are known for their high voter turnout and ability to influence others' voting decisions. NFIB plans to motivate its members across Mississippi to engage actively on Election Day.
