The Mississippi Department of Agriculture and Commerce (MDAC) has announced the upcoming Farmers Market Manager Workshop scheduled for March 13, 2025. The event will take place at the Mississippi Agriculture and Forestry Museum Sparkman Building in Jackson, MS.
The workshop is tailored for market managers, staff, volunteers, and board members. It aims to provide strategies for effective management of farmers markets. Topics will include market infrastructure and operations, regulatory compliance, labeling, food safety requirements, farmer and vendor retention strategies, sponsorship opportunities, Cottage Foods regulations, and sales tax considerations.
Interested participants are encouraged to register by completing the "Farmers Market Manager Workshop Application (PDF)" and mailing it with a $20 fee for lunch to Katie Sansing at PO BOX 1609, Jackson, MS 39215 by March 6, 2025.
